PRATIKSHA TRUST INITIATIVE ON BRAIN, COMPUTATION, AND DATA SCIENCE, IISc

The Pratiksha Trust Initiative on Brain, Computation, and Data Science (BCD) at IISc has provided generous support for the workshop. The Pratiksha Trust, founded by Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan and Mrs. Sudha Gopalakrishnan, has made a generous endowment for three distinguished visiting chairs at IISc in the general areas of neuromorphic computing, computational neuroscience, machine learning and data science (the BCD group). Three Pratiksha BCD Chair professors will participate and speak in the BCW 2024 workshop.

DST - COGNITIVE SCIENCE RESEARCH INITIATIVE

The Department of Science & Technology (DST) had initiated a highly focused programme “Cognitive Science Research Initiative (CSRI)” in 2008 during 11th Five-year plan.  The CSRI programme extends partial support for organizing conference/seminar/symposia/training programmes/workshops/schools on a selective basis. The support is provided to Academic or Research Institutions, Universities and other Professional bodies to encourage young researchers and keep scientific community abreast of the latest developments in various areas of Cognitive Science.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a public, deemed, research university for higher education and research in science, engineering, design, and management. It is located in Bengaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka. The institute was established in 1909 with active support from Jamsetji Tata and thus is also locally known as the “Tata Institute”. It is ranked among the most prestigious academic institutions in India and has the highest citation per faculty among all the universities in the world. It was granted the deemed to be university status in 1958 and the Institute of Eminence status in 2018.
